Been writing about a study colleague who may have shown interest. He asked me out to dinner and after learned he was "physically attracted" to me. He likes to give me soft kisses and never expected anything in return fr me. M-F has always been professional and he’s been really good about our boundaries; he’s very honest, likes to take it very slow, and admits it takes along time for him to trust. He is a nice guy but didn’t seem to open up emotionally. Now (few weeks later), he’s acting different – spends more time w. me, concerned when I’m not "well" (he says "aww) and asks if i’m "really okay", says "thank you dear" and tells me how I remember and do little things, etc..
What’s weird is that when we have free time, I was surprised he didn’t ask me to hang out one on one but invited our mutual friend along…afterwards it was just me and him. He’s very sensual and LOVES kissing my neck, which he did. I reinforced boundaries and he was respectful so we spent most of the time cuddling. I was facing him and lying on his shoulder, giving him little kisses on his cheek and he said, "i really like this" repeatedly and how it was kinda making him melt. I asked what was up with the neck kisses and he said bc he wanted to "satisfy" me. I asked why he kept doin it and he said, "bc it would make you happy". Then afterwards, I had to talk out a "survey" on his performance haha and he asked all my preferenes..like learning a new subject. Then he got serious and said that he doesn’t like when people lie to him and w. his personal relationships, once he trusts them and finds out they lied, they can never his trust again". He wasn’t accusing me but putting it out there. This was last week. (I notice when he takes slow few steps forward, he takes 3 steps back).
Over the weekend, he wanted me to go w. him to "drink" w. the guys but I wasn’t feelin it. And of course, after all that "cuddling", he took 3 steps back. (Didn’t text/call or talk to him in 2 days; tho he did IM me). I saw him today and he did something to his hair – there’s GEL in his hair now. He came by to say "hi" to me and said, "hey dude". (DUUUDE?! What’s that?) Tonight, he invited me to go join him and a friend for dinner (his friend bought him dinner and since i was goin along, he ended up paying for me too. Thanks). We were chatting online. w a group fr. class and someone in the chat room left. He called me (which he didn’t have to b/c we were both still online)….

He is interested, trust me. Its actually pretty obvious to me that he is thinking twice about everything he does. He may do something and then think later "I don’t know if I should of done that" or "I don’t know if I should of said that". He doesn’t want to mess up. He calls you dude because he is backing off you, he doesn’t want to … [this is hard to explain] I guess he just doesn’t wanna make the same mistakes again. Guys get sensitive when they have been rejected even if its just a simple "no" for going out for a drink with the buds.
Bottom line: he DOES like you. He respects you. He seems nice… and he respects your boundaries which is essential for someone like you (I’m the same, I have boundaries altho I’m still pretty young haha).
So I guess you’re wondering what you should do? Well nothing. You are doing everything you should be doing. You sound like a great girl (you have self-respect, independence and seem nice) so this guy is probably not gonna let go anytime soon. Let him come to you, don’t worry about it.
